My name is Karen Sebung. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. With 30 years of experience, my specialty is in the area of child and adolescents. I serve school-aged children and adolescents and young adults. I also work with families to resolve conflicts.
Therapy proceeds differently for different people because every person’s issues and history differ. In a therapy session we will talk about what is going on presently in your life that has caused you to seek therapy. We may also talk about your personal history as it pertains to the current issues. We will also talk about the progress you feel you have made from session to session. Therapy can be short-term or long-term depending on the complexity of the issues. We will usually meet weekly. The rate of progress also depends on your willingness to actively participate in the therapy. You will take what you learn in session into your life. You may also be asked to do “homework” such as keep a journal, read a book, watch a movie, or participate in a fun activity. If you are ready for positive change in your life, please call 281-334-6543 for an appointment.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and the joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
